Ice Skating in Daegu!

Did you know Daegu has just as much to do in the cold months as it does in the summer? One of my favorite spots is by the river is Shincheon Ice Rink. Take the Yellow Line 3 on the monorail to Daebonggyo right by Debec Mall. This awesome rink opens December 9th until January 28th from 10am daily until 8pm on weekdays and 9pm on the weekend.

The rink is technically FREE if you have skates. If not, you only pay 1,000KRW for an hour sled or skate rental and 3,000KRW for all day. They do take credit card as well. This is such an awesome deal, right?

As soon as you walk inside, you will see the cafe to the right and a sitting area to the left. There are photo spots as well that are holiday themed!

There are breaks in the day where the staff cleans the ice. Make sure to plan accordingly upon arrival. The great news is you can sit in the super cozy area and enjoy the cafe treats while you wait.

Once you are ready, you take your receipt and get your skates. Don't forget - it's in Korean sizes. For example, I wear a size 8 so a size 250 was perfect for me. Then you get your helmet and you can rent a locker to store your items for only 500KRW.

Once you are geared up, go out on the ice and have a blast! Even if it's for an hour or all day, you are going to have so much fun. The view on the river, the joy of feeling like a kid again is all worth a day on Shincheon Ice Rink. ENJOY!!!

Kim Gwangseok - gil Street

Kim Gwangseok was an influential and extremely popular South Korean folk rock singer. The street he used to live on is now used as historical site filled with beautiful murals and statues. You can even get a stamp book located near the information area and collect stamps throughout the street.

The street is filled with beautiful colors and interactive murals, which was so fun!

I loved the guitars that were wonderfully placed as seats, as statues, and to take fun photos with.

There is even a cute tunnel that you can write your wishes on a guitar and hang it up!

Have fun exploring all of the neat cafes around the street as well!

I had a great time exploring this area and I hope you check it out when you are Daegu. Enjoy!

The Best of Apsan Park

Did you know that Daegu is surrounded by mountains? Neither did I but what a pleasant surprise! There is so much to do in Apsan Park depending on the weather, the time you have available to explore, and the people you are with. The park is one of the largest urban-eco parks in Daegu. The mountain reaches a peak of 600 meters high.

You can bring your strollers/wagons to certain parts that are paved. The Koreans love kids and will definitely stop to say hi. It's wonderful!

We LOVE Dinosaur Park! It's a FREE area that has life-size dinosaurs that make sounds you can hear a mile away. You can take brushes and pretend you are looking for bones, there are slides, a sandpit, and of course beautiful views of the area!

Address1586-4 Bongdeok 2(i)-dong, Nam-gu, Daegu

You can walk past the Dinosaur Park and see temples as well! They are so beautiful!

They have a cool area that includes climbing up a rope to get to the top of the hill, a maze, suspension bridge, and tons of outdoor gyms!

And of course, you can hike the gorgeous mountain! There are so many trails and it would take days to hit all the marks. Definitely go to the top though; it's so worth it!

Perfect places everywhere to meditate as well and just enjoy the outdoors.

Going at night is even better. I highly recommend you take the cable car up to the observatory to get the best view of the city! You see why it is called Colorful Daegu!

Address574-114 Apsansunhwan-ro, Daemyeong 9(gu)-dong, Nam-gu, Daegu

It is an extremely popular date night spot on the top of the observatory. There is even a cafe
 too!

I hope you enjoy your time at Apsan Park!
